Protect PIN numbers on telephone cards
Example of:

Challenges:
Stop detection of PIN numbers on cards by unauthorized callers, which was costing telephone companies large amounts of money.
Media:
Scratch-off labels (more commonly used for game pieces, retail discounts and redeemable coupons).
Strategy:
Devise protective label that would immediately reveal if it had been tampered with, prior to authorization.
Results:
PSG designed metallic-tone labels with overprinted design. They cannot be peeled off, and any attempt to remove them is immediately and easily detected by scratches and security slits on the label. This innovation has virtually done away with unauthorized access, and saves the telephone companies thousands of dollars. PSG currently produces 10 to 20 million such labels a month for the communications industry.
